Mumbai stop tinkering and start winning

A settled top three and a fully fit Bumrah have turned a slow start into a genuine playoff run.

There is no mystery to the Mumbai Indians revival. They stopped changing the team. The top three of Rohit Sharma, the recalled opener, and Suryakumar Yadav has played five games in a row, and the batting has the rhythm that only continuity produces.

The other half of the story is Jasprit Bumrah, fully fit and bowling all four overs across the phases rather than being saved for the death. With Bumrah able to attack in the powerplay, the rest of the attack gets easier match-ups.

Mumbai spent six weeks finding their best eleven. It has won them five of six.

Mumbai are 14 points and climbing. The side that looked muddled in April now looks like the most dangerous team nobody wants to draw.
